Circle Speak offers a range of options to assist workplaces to resolve conflict and establish effective working relationships.
Peta Blood has worked with conflict in the workplace for over 12 years, initially in the capacity as a member of the innovative Conflict Management Unit of the NSW Police Service. This group was established in 1995 to assist the organisation find more effective ways of managing conflict and disruption in the wake of the Wood Royal Commission and very quickly started to pick up issues that no other area of the service was able to resolve. Whether it be dealing with major conflict, complaints, inappropriate behaviours, poor leadership or in the aftermath of a traumatic incident, the group were able to assist Police and members of the public to find solutions that worked for them.
How Circle Speak works?
We like to speak to the people involved in the conflict to establish the best way to move forward. This may involve a group process (workplace conference); mediation; or counselling session to deal with the impact of what has happened in the workplace in a way that assists people to take responsibility for behaviour, to acknowledge harm and work together to find solutions that will change the situation. This can be followed up with strategies to bring about change within the workplace that include:
team building
facilitated sessions
effective meeting procedures
relational practices
grievance handling
problem solving
